A beekeeper in a straw hat stands beside fenced garden beds of sunflowers and lavender, with a wooden market stall and pine forest behind.

A slower kind of game

Your bees do the work. You set the table.

You don't fly the bees around. You plant what they love, keep the beds watered and watch them head out every morning. The flowers you grow decide what kind of honey ends up in the comb.

Rain keeps them home. Wind slows them down. At night they rest, and so can you.

Bees fly out from the hive over a garden of blooming flowers.

How it plays

From seed to sale in three steps

  1. Freshly planted seedlings in the garden beds.

    Plant and water

Sow clover, sunflower and lavender, then water them until they bloom. Your bees forage on whatever is flowering.

  2. Spinning frames in the honey extractor.

    Harvest and bottle

Nectar ripens into honey inside the hive. Pull the frames, spin them in the extractor and bottle what comes out.

  3. Mabel's market stall with jars of honey for sale.

    Sell and grow

Sell jars to Mabel or fill village orders for reputation. Put the coins into a bigger, stronger hive.

What's in the valley

Small farm, real bee behavior

A colony that lives

The queen lays when there's room, food and pollen. Drones eat and don't work. Leave 600 g behind so the hive gets through the night.

Honey with a source

When one flower makes up most of the comb, the jar gets its name: clover, sunflower or lavender. A mix comes out as wildflower.

Weather that matters

Bees forage from dawn to evening, mostly stay in when it rains and slow down in the wind. Plan your harvest around it.

A tiny honey business

Set your own pace selling at Mabel's stall, or take on customer orders that ask for a specific variety.

Hive upgrades

Spend what you earn on more space, a bigger colony and better honey quality.
